Web System Administrator

Our rapidly growing firm is currently seeking a dynamic and creative individual to provide daily support and oversight to our web-based business unit. These web products represent on-line deployment of our otherwise static wind mapping products. Specific responsibilities will include providing general technical support in relation to the applications and web server, coding and programming support, database management, and implementation of basic web tools and operating protocol. Applications are hosted on varying platforms and utilize multiple programming languages.

The ideal candidate must possess strict attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and be able to manage priorities effectively and with little oversight. This position is a highly visible position and will require working with colleagues, consultants, and clients in an effective and professional manner.

Education

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in CIS, MIS, Web Development, or related field required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Software

Microsoft Web API (ASP or .net), JavaScript, HTML, and MySQL. Linux experience preferred. Knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS Server software is also beneficial.

Location

This position will be located in Albany, NY.

Experience

This position requires at least 1-2 years of experience in the field of IT and/or web development. Relevant experience in GIS or web-based mapping solutions is useful. Database management is also a plus.
