Invited to Chair & Present at Upcoming AWEA Workshops

The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has invited AWS Truewind to participate in its premier Offshore Wind Power Workshop. The event, which will be chaired by Hunter Armisted of Babcock & Brown, will take place in Wilmington, Delaware September 9-10, 2008. President & CEO of AWS Truewind, Dr. Bruce Bailey, will be moderating and speaking at the Metocean Site Characterization session from 2:00 - 3:30 pm. Session topics include: offshore wind characteristics, defining waves and currents, and physical siting issues and standards.

AWEA has also extended multiple invitations to AWS Truewind to take part in the annual Wind Resource and Project Energy Assessment Workshop. The two-day event, which will take place in Portland, Oregon on September 24 & 25, has been a sold-out event multiple years in a row.

Project Engineer, Matthew Filippelli, will be speaking at the Addressing Bias in Wind Measurements – Part 1 session on Wednesday, September 24th from 9:15 – 10:15 am. AWS Truewind’s Chief Technical Officer, Michael Brower, will be chairing the session on Wind Flow Modeling scheduled for Thursday, September 25th from 8:45 – 10:15 am.

AWS Truewind will also have an exhibit booth where workshop participants can demo the latest advancement in wind prospecting, windNavigator (http://navigator.awstruewind.com).
